An autopsy was conducted today on the body of 49-year-old Robert J. Cooley of Hilo, who died Thursday after being involved in a one-vehicle traffic collision in Waikoloa.

The medical examiner determined that Cooley died from a medical condition and not from the crash.

For that reason, the death does not count toward the official traffic fatality count, according to police.
